Each Wirksworth bowl is thrown by hand on a potter's wheel in Derbyshire by a designer who spent years at Denby Pottery refining the craft. The clay body is dense stoneware, fired to a temperature that vitrifies the material and locks in a high-gloss, food-safe glaze, chosen in six considered colours from earthy Yellow Ochre and Monarch Burnt Orange to the quieter tones of Tallow White and Dark Verna Green. The extra-wide, weighted base is not an afterthought: it is thrown as part of the form, giving the bowl a low centre of gravity that keeps it anchored even when your dog is eating with intent.
The glaze is chip-resistant and fully dishwasher safe, making daily cleaning straightforward without any deterioration in finish over time.
