MiaCara Loggia Cat Cave Bed
Does your cat hide when guests arrive?
Part cat cave, part cool retreat.
Your cat settles into the soft wool felt and lets the room fall away, cradled in the cave's gentle curve. The Loggia is an open-front felt shell on a slim powder-coated frame that lifts it clear of the floor, so air moves underneath and through the breathable, temperature-regulating wool. In a warm house it becomes the cool spot they seek out; year round it stays a calm place to retreat. The felt is high in wool content, resists flattening over years of use, and the liner is replaceable.

The making of itThe story behind the piece, and why we chose it
Anxious cats find their own hiding places. Behind the sofa. Under the bed. In the back of the wardrobe. The problem with all three is that none of those spots were built for a cat. The floor is hard. The space is awkward. The dust collects. The cat hides because they need to, but they cannot rest properly while they are there. The Loggia is the hiding spot that is also a bed.
The form is a structured dome on a powder-coated metal frame with a wool felt liner inside. Designed by ADDI for MiaCara, it has an open front that lets the cat watch the room from inside the cave. Two colourways: white frame with beige felt, or black frame with black felt. Both sit as decorative furniture in any room rather than as pet furniture parked in a corner.
Powder-coated metal does not warp under the cat's weight or compress with use, and it holds the dome shape for the lifetime of the bed. Wool felt is what makes the liner last: the fibres compress slowly, regulate body temperature naturally, and resist the matting that turns synthetic-fill cat beds into a flat cushion within a year. When the liner eventually softens from years of kneading and napping, it can be replaced.
Why we chose this
We chose the Loggia because most enclosed cat beds force the cat to choose between hiding and watching, and the Loggia's open-front design lets them do both at once.

Details & Specifications
- Dimensions
- 41 x 45 x 43 cm (L x W x H).
- Weight
- 1.65 kg.
- Material
- White or black frame with a fitted high-content wool felt cave (beige or black). Felt is replaceable.
- Care
- Spot clean the felt with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then air dry fully. Do not machine wash. Wipe the frame clean.
- Design
- MiaCara, a German design house. Designed by ADDI.
The Loggia's structural frame is finished in either White or Black, paired with a fitted high-content wool felt cave in Beige or Black respectively. Because the felt is raised clear of the floor on the frame, air circulates beneath it, and the breathable wool felt regulates temperature naturally, helping it stay cool in warm weather. Wool felt also resists flattening under repeated use and softens gradually with wear. The felt component is designed to be replaced independently of the frame, extending the life of the product considerably.
CareCleaning and everyday care
The wool felt lining should be spot cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then left to air dry fully before returning to the frame. Avoid machine washing the felt, as this may cause shrinkage or distortion. The frame can be wiped clean with a dry or lightly damp cloth as needed.

What is the Loggia Cat Cave Bed made from?
The Loggia's structural frame is finished in either White or Black, paired with a fitted high-content wool felt cave in Beige or Black respectively. Wool felt is selected for its natural ability to regulate temperature, resist flattening under repeated use, and soften gradually with wear. The felt component is designed to be replaced independently of the frame, extending the life of the product considerably.
Is the Loggia a good bed for hot weather?
Yes. The felt shell sits raised on a slim frame rather than on the floor, so air can circulate underneath it, and the breathable wool felt naturally regulates temperature. That makes the Loggia a cool, calm place for a cat to settle when the house is warm. It is a passive design, with no fans or powered parts.
How do I clean and care for the Loggia Cat Cave Bed?
The wool felt lining should be spot cleaned with a damp cloth and mild detergent, then left to air dry fully before returning to the frame. Avoid machine washing the felt, as this may cause shrinkage or distortion. The frame can be wiped clean with a dry or lightly damp cloth as needed.
Where is the Loggia Cat Cave Bed made?
The Loggia is by MiaCara, a German design house, and was designed for them by the studio ADDI.
