The making of itThe story behind the piece, and why we chose it
A good cat bed gives a cat something to lean against as well as something to lie on. The Calma does both. Its raised edge is built to hold its shape, so the six sides stand up around your cat and form a nest to curl into, around a lying surface of about 30 cm across.
The fabric is a wool blend, 70% wool with polyester, polyamide and polyacrylic, over a siliconised hollow-fibre filling. The hexagonal outline comes from the MiaCara Design Team, and in Pebble, a light grey, or Sand, a sandy beige, the bed reads as a soft furnishing in the room rather than as pet equipment.
Looking after it is simple. The fabric is washable at 30°C on a gentle cycle, then left to air dry on a rack. In between, give the bed a shake and brush away any light soiling.
