Two dogs, one walk, and the quiet satisfaction of both leads coiled neatly into a single hand. Whether you have a spaniel glued to your left heel and a lurcher pulling gently ahead, this lead keeps them together without the tangle, the swapping, or the juggling that makes the morning walk feel like a task rather than a pleasure.
Each lead is cut, stitched, and finished by hand at Cub & Grey's workshop in Worcestershire, using British bridle leather that has been vegetable-tanned to develop a rich, burnished patina with every use. The rotating brass or silver hardware at both attachment points turns a full 360 degrees, so the leather never twists under tension, and the splitter detaches cleanly when you are walking just one dog.
Bridle leather is chosen by working saddlers for a reason: it is dense, water-resistant, and built to withstand years of daily use rather than months. Because every piece is cut and stitched by hand in small batches, availability is genuinely limited, and no two leads come out exactly the same.

The lead is made from British bridle leather, a dense, close-grained hide that is vegetable-tanned using traditional methods and dressed with wax to resist moisture and scuffing. Hardware is available in brass or silver-finish metal, with 360-degree rotating swivel clips at each attachment point to prevent the leather from twisting under load. The splitter connector is finished to match the main lead and detaches cleanly via a clip when not required. Available in five hand-dyed colourways: British Burgundy, Cavendish Red, Whisky Tan, Midnight Blue, and Sacramento Green.

Caring for Your Leather
Our products are crafted from premium British bridle leather - a natural material that develops a beautiful patina over time. With proper care, your collar or lead will last for years.
Cleaning
For everyday dirt and mud:
- Use a barely damp cloth to wipe the surface
- Lay flat and allow to dry naturally
- Never scrub or soak
Important: Never use direct heat (radiators, hairdryers, or direct sunlight) to dry leather. Heat makes leather brittle and can cause cracking.
Water Exposure
If your leather gets wet:
- Wipe off excess moisture with a soft cloth
- Allow to air dry naturally at room temperature
- Once dry, apply leather balm to restore suppleness
After saltwater (beach or sea):
- Rinse immediately with a damp cloth to remove salt residue
- Salt is corrosive, so removing it quickly prevents damage
- Allow to dry naturally, then condition
Conditioning
Regular conditioning keeps leather soft and extends its life.
We recommend:
- Apply a natural leather balm every few months
- More frequently if the leather looks dry or feels stiff
- Use products made from natural ingredients (beeswax, oils)

- Reduces visible marks and scratches
- Enhances water resistance
- Develops a rich, deep patina
Colour Transfer
Our leather is naturally dyed using traditional vegetable tanning methods. This means:
- Colours may transfer to light-coloured fabrics if the leather is saturated
- This is a characteristic of high-quality, naturally-dyed leather
- To prevent transfer, ensure leather is fully dry before contact with fabrics
Storage
- Store in a cool, dry place
- Avoid plastic bags (leather needs to breathe)
- Keep away from direct sunlight to prevent fading

Your text is hand-embossed directly onto the leather, up to eight characters, as a blind deboss - a subtle pressed finish with no colour. Each piece is stamped by hand in the Worcestershire workshop.
