The Story
A wolfhound at rest is one of the most quietly magnificent sights in the world: all that height and bone folded into something surprisingly gentle. When your hound wears a collar that fits as it should, wide enough to carry their weight with ease and shaped to the natural curve of their neck, it becomes part of them rather than something merely fastened on.
Each collar is made by hand in Cub & Grey's workshop in Worcestershire, cut and stitched by a single craftsperson from Sedgwick British bridle leather, one of the most respected vegetable-tanned leathers produced in England. The distinctive hound profile, wider at the back of the neck and tapered at the throat, is not a stylistic flourish but a considered fit for breeds whose deep chests and narrow heads demand something more thoughtful than a standard ring collar.
Bridle leather is chosen for its density and longevity: it resists moisture, takes on a richer patina over years of wear, and holds its structure through daily walks and seasons. Because every collar is hand-cut and stitched to your dog's individual measurements, production is small and unhurried, and no two pieces leave the workshop quite alike.

What is the Leather XL Hound Collar made from?
The collar is made from Sedgwick British bridle leather, a vegetable-tanned hide produced at the historic Sedgwick tannery and regarded as the benchmark for English saddlery and working leather goods. Hardware is solid cast brass or silver, chosen to complement the leather colour and secured without rivets that could press against the neck. Personalisation of up to eight characters is available, stamped directly into the leather.
How do I clean and care for the Leather XL Hound Collar?
Everyday cleaning: wipe with a barely damp cloth, then lay flat and let it dry naturally. Never scrub or soak the leather, and never dry it with direct heat (radiators, hairdryers or sunlight) - heat makes leather brittle and can cause it to crack.
Conditioning: apply a natural leather balm every few months, or sooner if the leather feels dry, to keep it supple and water-resistant and to build a rich patina over time.

Your text is hand-embossed directly onto the leather, up to eight characters, as a blind deboss - a subtle pressed finish with no colour. Each piece is stamped by hand in the Worcestershire workshop.
