Do you ever find your cat gazing out of the window?
Part window perch, part vertical territory your cat chose for themselves.
Watch where your cat already settles. The windowsill. The back of the sofa. The top of the wardrobe. They are looking for a spot with sun, a view, and height. The Arcing View gives them that spot, shaped to cradle a curled-up body, hung against your window frame. A 60cm wide perch that fits cats of all sizes, and a cushion they can sink into. Why cats need height
A window-mounted arc turns sill-watching into a proper resting spot, which behaviourists recognise as an important outlet for indoor cats. Stainless steel hooks and suction cups hold it securely to the window frame and let the shelf sit almost flush against the surround, so it fits rooms where the architecture is already doing the design work.
Everything else
The making of itThe story behind the piece, and why we chose it
For a cat, the window is a favourite place. Movement passes through it constantly: birds in the garden, the postman, the neighbour's car, leaves in the wind. The smells from the other side filter through the frame. The light changes through the day. A cat at a window is not bored. They are working. They want a perch built for that work.
The Arcing View is suspended from the window frame on stainless steel hooks. Flexible suction cups between the base and the glass add stability without taking any of the cat's weight. The weight goes into the hooks on the frame, not into the suction on the glass. This is the difference between the Arcing View and the suction-only window perches sold elsewhere. Those rely on suction to support the cat. The Arcing View does not.
The 60cm beech-plywood perch is shaped to order at the Cat's Atelier workshop in Poland. A typical windowsill is too narrow for a cat to lie out fully; the 60cm width fits the smallest tabby curled into the centre or a Maine Coon stretched along its full length. The cushion sits inside the curve and is deep enough that a curled cat sinks below the rim of the frame, where they feel enclosed rather than exposed. The 15kg load rating is well over the weight of any domestic cat. The frame has a 5-year warranty.
Why we chose this
We chose the Arcing View Hammock because most window perches rely on suction to hold a cat to glass, and the Arcing View carries the cat on hooks set into the frame instead.

The Arcing View is made from beech plywood, prized for its tight, even grain and natural strength. Shaped to hold a gentle curve and hand-finished to a smooth surface, it keeps its form without flexing under a cat's weight, and its fixings sit evenly across the window frame so the shelf stays level and stable under daily use.
The mattress is a soft polyurethane foam pad around 4 cm thick, held in a thick, soft cover that unzips for washing. It attaches to the shelf with sturdy Velcro, so it stays put when a cat lands on it and lifts away easily when you want to clean it.
The shelf hangs from durable braided rope, hooked over the top of the window frame. The rope can be adjusted to fit most standard windows, and stainless steel hooks and suction cups are included for a secure hold.
CareCleaning and everyday care
Wipe the surface down with a lightly dampened cloth as needed, and dry immediately. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct condensation or standing water around the base of the shelf. Inspect the window fixings periodically to confirm they remain firm, particularly during the first few weeks after installation as the mounting settles.

How to Plan Your Cat's Climbing Route
A single shelf is a good start. A proper route, one your cat climbs from the floor with confidence, only needs a few planning basics.
- Start from the floor. The most reliable route needs no furniture at all: a short run of steps leading up to a perch works in every room, for every cat.
- Think in three bands — a low launch point up to about half a metre, a middle climbing band up to around a metre and a half, and a high vantage perch above that with a clear view.
- Space each step around 20 to 30cm apart, so every move is an easy step rather than a jump.
- Just don't stack steps directly on top of one another. Beyond that, arrange them however suits your wall, diagonally, in a diamond, a triangle, or staggered from side to side.
- Most rooms need three to five pieces to build a comfortable floor-to-perch route.
- A window is a popular spot for a shelf, giving your cat the view and the natural light to watch the room from.
- Two cats, two routes. Where space allows, give each cat its own way up rather than one shared route with a single pinch point.
- Easy to fix. Every piece comes with concealed fixings and full fittings, and mounts securely to masonry or a plasterboard wall with studs.
