Why cats need height
A step gives a cat a staging point on the way up to a shelf and lets you extend a route across a wall without every stop needing a full-size platform. The soft felt surface gives grip and protects the cat's feet, and the low profile works quietly under larger shelves without dominating the wall.

The making of itThe story behind the piece, and why we chose it
Watch your cat discover a world above the furniture line: the cautious first paw, the satisfied survey from the top step, the slow blink that says this is exactly where I belong. Wall-mounted steps give cats what they instinctively seek, height, territory, a place that is entirely theirs.
Each step is handcrafted to order by Cat's Atelier in Poland, with an MDF platform upholstered in soft felt. Choose the felt in Grey, Beige, Dark Grey, Black or Brown, and the platform in White, Grey, Black or Caramel.
Why we chose this
Cat's Atelier prove that something made thoughtfully in a small Polish workshop, from honest materials, can give a cat a better life and a home a better look.

How to Plan Your Cat's Climbing Route
A single shelf is a good start. A proper route, one your cat climbs from the floor with confidence, only needs a few planning basics.
- Start from the floor. The most reliable route needs no furniture at all: a short run of steps leading up to a perch works in every room, for every cat.
- Think in three bands: a low launch point up to about half a metre, a middle climbing band up to around a metre and a half, and a high shelf above that with a clear view.
- Space each step around 20 to 30cm apart, so every move is an easy step rather than a jump.
- Just don't stack steps directly on top of one another. Beyond that, arrange them however suits your wall, diagonally, in a diamond, a triangle, or staggered from side to side.
- Most rooms need three to five pieces to build a comfortable floor-to-perch route.
- A window is a popular spot for a shelf, giving your cat the view and the natural light to watch the room from.
- Two cats, two routes. Where space allows, give each cat its own way up rather than one shared route with a single pinch point.
- Easy to fix. Every piece comes with concealed fixings and full fittings, and mounts securely to masonry or a plasterboard wall with studs.
This piece: 10 x 21cm footprint, concealed fixings, intended for cats that use it intensively. A good building block for the lower steps in a route.
